Just Thinking…

We invest in the things that matter to us. If you want to see what really matters to an individual or to an organisation, look at where their time and money is directed – that will give you the clearest view. It makes sense, then, that Jesus calls those who follow him to not just have a mental allegiance to his kingdom and not even have a lifestyle that reflects kingdom values, but to have an active investment in his kingdom. Are you actively investing in God’s kingdom? Where do we start? What do we do? I really like the acronym that came out of Saddleback church in the States – we are all SHAPEd to serve. Each Christian has a unique Spiritual gift; we all have issues which connect with our Heart; each follower has different Abilities and a different Personality. And each disciple has a distinctive set of Experiences. These add up to create a unique SHAPE that helps us contribute to God’s kingdom in a way that no-one else can. Do you know what your SHAPE is? If not, there are resources we can provide that may give you some guidance. And once you know your SHAPE, the next challenge is to not just be a follower of Christ, but to be a worker for Christ.
